GOSHEM promotes modern farming to enhance livelihood in our communities, boost food security, income, climate smart farming for community small Holder Survival farmers.  Many communities are at risk as most aids bypass them. Food insecurity is affecting over 70% of households due to low agricultural productivity and resilience on few crops; Our programs encompassing animal husbandry, agriculture and education significantly enhance the well-being of the community.

We have a demonstration farm, which includes a piggery, a chicken hatchery, fish farming and an apiary as well as crop production. It is self-sustaining and provides milk, eggs, meat, fish, honey and crops for the community and the school and sells these products in the community at affordable prices. It also serves as a learning resource to improve farming practices in the area.

GOSHEM trains individuals on diversification of farming, engage vulnerable families in cash crop farming for income generation procure and distribute safe food store to vulnerable households to reduce seasonal hunger, form an association of local farmers, supply drought-resistant crops.

Long-Term Impact

Zero hunger to the community when local economy is be boosted, men and women coexist in harmony, income and conditions of life for households are improved, favorable markets for products created and local farmers are not exploited by middlemen. Men share roles with women, maternal and child mortality rates caused by hunger and diseases are reduced, the environment is protected, and an adverse effect of climate changed reduced and prevented. Cortege industry is promoted among community farmer.
