Carpentary and joinery
Carpentary and joinery
The Project was started with the aim of providing practical skills to the community especially to the youths and thus creating job creators. It is a two year programme enabling students to have enough time on hands-on. Short courses are also offered i.e. 6 months and one year.
We also do production where we produce different types of furniture for our clients and for the center as well like doors and door frames, kitchen units, wardrobes, all kinds of chairs, dining tables, office furniture etc.
Trainees learn basic woodworking techniques like cutting and measuring wood and the use of tools like saws and hammers. Priority focus is on the safe use of power tools, shop set-up, customer relation skills and safety protocol in the world of work.
What a Trainee will learn at our centre
- Use carpentry tools and equipment
- Construct frames, trusses, eaves, and roofs
- Install and replace windows and doors
- Use static machines to manufacture joinery components
